În ultimii ani, Clujul a devenit unul dintre cele mai importante nuclee ale producției și promovării artei contemporane românesti, iar în acest an și-a propus să aducă împreună galeriile, spațiile de artă independente și instituțiile de artă locale într-un singur eveniment, de trei zile, deschis publicului între 12 și 14 septembrie 2014.Cluj Art Weekend este un proiect comun, deschis, care își propune să reflecte stadiul actual al scenei artistice din Cluj și ideile care stau la baza fiecărei inițiative în parte. Premisa nu este de a arăta diversitatea scenei, dar nici de a accentua diferențele, funcționând mai degrabă ca o radiografie încă nedevelopată complet a diferitelor perspective din care arta contemporană poate fi abordată atât din exterior, cât și prin prisma  producției ei. Inițiativa este una născută din interiorul scenei de artă clujene, motivația împărtășită de organizatori fiind de a deschide accesul publicului clujean la un program intens de expoziții și întâlniri cu artiști și lucrările lor, creând contextul unei cartografieri a orașului, a spațiilor și a proiectelor pe care le găzduiește. Invitând la explorarea istoriei diferitelor locuri și a ofertelor culturale contemporane, Cluj Art Weekend are potențialul de a deveni un eveniment anual și o platformă constantă de dialog între artiști și public.Programul evenimentului include vernisajele expozițiilor, vizite ghidate și întâlniri cu artiștii.

In the last years, Cluj has become one of the most important centers of Romanian contemporary art production and promotion, and this year it has set as a goal to bring together local galleries, independent art spaces and art institutions for a three-day event, open to the public between 12th and 14th of September 2014.Cluj Art Weekend is an open collaborative project that aims to reflect the current stage of the Cluj art scene and the ideas behind each individual initiative. The point is not necessarily to replicate the diversity of the scene or to emphasize the differences, but to offer a radiography in progress of the various perspectives from which contemporary art can be approached both externally and through its production. This initiative comes from the local art scene, the shared motivation of the organizers being to open the public access to an intense program of exhibitions and meetings with the artists and their works, creating the context for mapping of the city, of galleries and projects it hosts. Cluj Art Weekend invites its audience to an exploration of the history behind various places and contemporary cultural initiatives, and has the potential of becoming a yearly event and a permanent platform for dialogue between artists and their public.The schedule of the event will be announced soon and will include exhibition openings, guided tours, and meetings with the artists.
